We picked up our first win of the season after a closely fought encounter in the Aura. We edged the first half but found it hard to get shots away against a solid Ballyraine defence. Claragh Gallagher had some great runs but was closed down each time. Ebony Griffin and Sinead Mc Loughlin both had good efforts as well. The breakthrough came on thirty minutes when the hard working Siobhan Curran finished well after a scramble in the area. Ballyraine went close from a couple of corners. Sarah O' Keeney and Clodagh Patton created some danger for them but Ciara Cullen dealt with any shots. The second half was evenly balanced but defences were still on top. We got the vital second when Sinead Mc Loughlin was sent clear and shot to the top corner. Ballyraine went close on a couple of occasions near the end but we held on for the win. A great all round effort with Ciara Cullen excellent in goals. Cara Mc Fadden and Katie Rodgers held the defence together. We retained our first division status when they held off a determined Cranford side in the second half. We went in to the game needing a win or draw to stay up, while only a win would save Cranford. We increased the lead when Ross Hamlyn raced through for a great finish. Cranford were confined to a few threatening moments at corners with us defending well. It all changed at the start of the second half when Cranford threw men forward to get back in to the game. They grabbed a goal when Paddy Mc Geever fired home after a scramble. With Chris Carr pushing up we were rattled and Cranford threatened a comeback. We grabbed the vital third on eighty five minutes when Ross Hamlyn sent Oisin Harkin clear and he finished well. U14A Boys League Cup

Bonagee Utd 2 Lagan Harps 2
(Lagan won on pens)
Goose green was the venue for Jason and Seamas' 14s side as the boys faced a very strong Bonagee side this morning . We were quick out of the traps Aeghan Rodgers finishing off a fine move involving Zach Nesbitt to nudge us in front. The lead didn't last too long as Charlie Bonner equalised despite some last ditch defending from the very impressive Ben Duncan. Oscar Doherty found his range to put Bonagee ahead 2 1 just before the break. We had to withstand a lot of pressure in the second half but the boys held firm, and broke away to equalise, Oisin Kavanagh scoring at the second attempt when in on goal. Danny mcCarron almost won it for us at the end but the Bonagee goalkeeper Luke Glackin pulled off a top notch save from point blank range. Penalties were taken, Harkin, Tourish, Breen and McLaughlin converted, with McBride stopping two from Bonagee. Thanks to Dessie McLaughlin for a fine game as the man in the middle.

18/4/24

Our Lagan Harps U12's Dev Team completed out their Cup campaign with a win over a good Gweedore Utd team in the Aura back pitch. We took the lead through Kieran Tourish after good work by Caolan and Riley and Kieran finished well. Sean McGee forced the Gweedore keeper into a good save from a well hit free kick. Gweedore threatened but Jack O'Donnell marshalled his back line well.
HT - 1-0

Two minutes into the second half Xavier fed Riley who beat his man and fired a great shot which was well saved but Caolan followed up with a great volley to put us 2 up. Gweedore came well into the game and Ollie done well turning a shot away and Daniel blocked well on the line from a corner. A deep ball from the Gweedore full back found the left winger he cut inside and finished well giving Ollie no chance. Senan Devenny done well when he replaced Kieran and was unlucky bursting through, a late last gasp tackle just foiling him. We held on for the win.

Good luck to Paul and Gweedore for the season, and thanks to Letterkenny Rovers FC for the use off the pitch tonight.

22/5/23 .U16's First Division League Cup Final.

Donegal Junior League Headquarters Ballyare.

Mulroy Academy v Lagan Harps Fc.

Full Time 2-2 Lagan win 5-4 on Penalties

First Half:

On a brilliant surface in Ballyare both teams started well with chances falling to both teams early on. A great ball in from Ronan from the left found its way to Aiden who drew a great save from the Mulroy keeper from twelve yards. Conor had a shot from distance and Damien just failed to get on the end of a great cross from Drew. We took the lead when a great inswinging corner from Ronan took and unlucky deflection off the Mulroy defender and went in off the post. Kai then made a great save from a Mulroy corner met by the Mulroy striker. Drew made a great run from deep and powered forward and from distance fired over. Just before half time we broke and the ball fell to Fintan twenty five yards out on the half volley and flew in off the post and crossbar. A great strike to put us two put at the break.

Second Half:

Mulroy were the better side in the first fifteen minutes off the second half and Kai done well to get there just in front off the Mulroy striker. A coss from deep was well met then by Daibhid Lynch and his looping header give Kai no chance to leave a nervous last fifteen minutes. Dylan played in Riley but his shot didn't trouble the keeper. Fintan combined well with Jack but just as he was lining up the shot a great saving tackle denied Fintan his second. With seven minutes remaining Mulroy got the equaliser when hesitancy in the Lagan defence allowed the striker to run through and his shot found the net to level the score. Scott did well when introduced and combined with Caolan to take pressure off the defence and from a foul we were unlucky not to get a winner at the end.

A good game off football between two evenly matched teams headed to the dreaded penalty shoot out were Jack, Cormac, Drew, Ronan all scored with Captain on the night Kai saving Mulroys fifth penalty and Fintan converted to leave the cup heading to Manor.

Gerry Gallagher from the Letterkenny District Schoolboys League presented Kai with the cup and the celebrations began.

Match Referee was Diego Rainey who allowed a good game to flow.

We would like to wish Mulroy and management team of Fergus and Colm all the best for the Season ahead.

With Convoy throwing players forward Amy Lateef hit them twice again on the break to round off a superb hattrick. Adya O'Donnell also deserves a lot of credit for a gritty performance. A good win against the odds in which the players really battled for each other.

Squad: Ella Sharkey, Teaghan Doherty, Julianna Crockett, Mary Doran, Amy Lateef, Clodagh Kavanagh, Adya O'Donnell, Emily Mc Mahon, Ellie Rodgers, Alicia Staciak.

Lagan Harps 2 Swilly Rovers 1

We eventually came out on top in a well balanced game. Swilly, with the aid of the breeze, started strong and took the lead on five minutes. A good ball from Ava Grier sent Kiri Sweeney through and she finished well. We had to defend strongly before starting to edge their way in to the game. They equalised on twenty four minutes when Clodagh Kavanagh found Claragh Gallagher and she raced clear to score. Swilly restored their lead on thirty minutes when another ball from Ava Grier put Emma Naughton in to score. Backed by the breeze began to get on top in the second half. With Cabrini Pyne anchoring the midfield Claragh Gallagher and Sinead Mc Laughlin were able to push forward. Ava Gibson and Jodie Rodgers held the defence steady. The equaliser came on forty minutes when Sinead Mc Laughlin put Claragh in for her second. It was nip and tuck to the end . We had some good runs down the wing from Teaghan Doherty and Niamh O'Donnell as we went for a winner. We snatched a winner in the last few minutes. Jodie Rodgers finished to the net after Clodagh Kavanagh did well to keep a corner alive. Two good team performances from both teams who fielded very young sides

 Whitestrand United 3 v Lagan Harps 1

Our senior men finished off their season with a defeat away to Whitestrand. With Lagan already crowded Champions the game was just about finishing out the season.

The boys played some excellent football in the 1st half hour but the finishing was lacking in the final third. Whitestrand took the lead in the 34th minute when Michael Sweeney scored from close range.

Kenny Doran then equalised in the 39th minute with a fine header.

Whitestrand then took the lead with 15 minutes to go with a header of their own. The game was finished 3 minutes later when Michael Sweeney raced clear to double the lead after a clanger of a mistake in our backline.

Overall a brilliant season from the lads to win the league. Now we look forward to next season.

Lagan Harps 5 Letterkenny Rovers 2

Lagan started brightly in their first league Cup game. Kieran Cunningham shot just wide after good work on the right wing from Ultan McLaughlin. Kieran Cunningham combined well with Derek Ramsey and had his shot brilliantly turned around the post by the Letterkenny Goalkeeper.

Lagan scored the opening goal from a Kieran Cunningham free kick from the edge of the box. It was 2-0 soon after when Aaron Watson combined with Kieran Cunningham down the left hand side and Andrew Cullen was on hand to finish off the move superbly well.

Ultan McLaughlin had a shot narrowly over the bar as Lagan continued to dominate. The third goal was somewhat fortunate as Eoghan Callaghan's cross from the right hand side evaded everyone and rolled into the net. Fintan Gaffney almost scored a superb solo goal but he was denied by the Goalkeeper. The final chance of the half came to Lagan through great work by Aaron Watson on the left wing, his cross found Eoghan Callaghan who shot wide.

Letterkenny came into the game as the half wore on but steady defending by Oisin Tinney and Senan Doherty kept the scoreline 3-0 at the break. The second half was a much tighter affair as Letterkenny dominated for long periods. Letterkenny had a few chances but Adam Duncan was in great form in the Lagan goals as he made a string of good saves and interceptions. Lagan's fourth goal was worked well up the right hand side with Michael Lynch combining well with Clodagh Kavanagh who found Eoghan Callaghan in space, his shot was saved but Shay Cullen was in the right place at the right time to slot home the rebound. Letterkenny pulled two goals back in quick succession and were dominating the game. Derek Ramsey had to be at his best in midfield to keep Letterkenny out. Lagan scored the final goal of the game through an fine individual effort from Andrew Cullen. Referee Marty McGarrigle. text.

We grabbed a second when Jack Mc Connell hit a screamer from thirty yards in to the bottom corner. Matthew Doran and Conor Doherty were battling really hard for us in midfield and Ryan Gallagher and Ryan Kildea were threatening out wide. Sketchers Trophy U16's-
Ballyhaise v Lagan Harps Fc.
Sunday 22nd - Cavan Astro Park
Final Score 5-2.

We travelled to Cavan Astro to face Ballyhaise Celtic this morning. We weren't able to get the win we sought as Ballyhaise turned out to be the better side on the day. After a scrappy start Ballyhaise took the lead when one of their midfielders headed home a corner at the back post. We responded well and equalised from a corner ourselves. The Ballyhaise defence failed to deal with it and Aiden did well at the back post and Dylan Doherty poked home. Our joy was shortlived as Ballyhaise immediately regained the lead. We failed to close down one of their midfielders and he hit a screamer from thirty yards. We had a half chance to respond but Conor Healy was closed down before he could get his shot away. Ballyhaise extended their lead on thirty five minutes with another long range effort. We upped our game at the start of the second half with Aidan Devir winning a lot of tackles at the back and Billy Mc Carron doing well in midfield. Jack Mc Connell was also making some good overlaps down the left. We got back in to the game when Conor Healy was pulled down in the area after getting on the end of Jack's cross. Jack smashed home the penalty. The game was very scrappy with the ball in the air most of the time, but was finely balanced. Ballyhaise then got their fourth with eight minutes left when a player got free at the back post to head home. We had a couple of efforts but Ballyhaise got a fifth with the last kick of the game. The lads had given it a good shot but we were punished for some errors by a clinical Ballyhaise side. We'd like to thank Ballyhaise for the food and hospitality afterwards and wish them well in the next round.
Special thanks to Ernie for stepping in today and 2 all our parents who travelled to Cavan. Great days craic even though the result didn't go for us, thanks to James from Home James Buses for getting us there.

We went close when Josh Hays cross, caught in the wind and hit the crossbar. Curragh continued to play some good football with Oisin Mc Cool and Cormac Callaghan playing well. We went 2-0 up on thirty minutes when Ross Hamlyn burst through. Chris Burns did well to block his initial shot but he headed home the rebound. We almost made it 3-0 minutes later when Kenny Doran lobbed Burns but Gary Doherty made a fantastic goalline clearance, despite crashing in to the post. Fortunately he was able to continue. Curragh would have hoped , with the aid of the breeze, to start on top in the second half. However we started really well and began to dominate possession. We increased our lead on fifty five minutes when Joe Mc Carron sent Philip Doran through and he finished well. Matthew Doran when introduced began to cause Curragh a lot of problems down the left. Dean Murray linked up really well with the attack as we continued to dominate. However Curragh went close when Conor Galvin forced Michael Toner in to a good save from distance. Our defence stood really solid not allowing Curragh to get a foothold. Philip Doran went close again when Joe Mc Carron put him through, but he shot narrowly wide. Sub Jack Duncan then hit the post as we pressed again. Curragh pulled a goal back in the final minutes when Cormac Callaghan finished well when the ball broke to him fifteen yards out. Cranford Utd 1 Lagan Harps 0

An early goal decided this hard fought cup tie. Cranford put us under early pressure and took the lead on ten minutes. James Mc Bride shook off a defender before hitting a low shot in to the corner from twenty yards. We struggled to get going as Cranford's direct approach caused us problems. Matthew Doran provided our main threat down the right but we couldn't make much impression on a solid Cranford defence. We went close on thirty minutes when Philip Doran headed just over from a Seamie Cullen cross. He went close again just before the break from a Joe Mc Carron cross, but Jason Hegarty saved his effort. The second half started much the same way, tight, with Cranford the more dangerous. Shane Hilley had a header over from a Josh Hay cross while at the other end Michael Toner pulled off a good save from a Dale Mc Fadden header. The game really opened up the last fifteen minutes and we began to create chances. Seamie Cullen got in at the back post but headed just over. Lagan Harps 3 Bonagee Arcade 2

Lagan came out on top in the end in a really good match. Bonagee totally dominated the first half and took the lead with an excellent finish. They then had a chance to extend the lead from the penalty spot but Mikey Lynch saved the shot. Unfortunately Mikey hurt his hand in the process and had to go off. Calvin Mc Bride replaced him in goal.Best wishes for a speedy recovery. We equalised just before halftime when Riley Dowds got in the end of a long ball and finished well. We almost snatched the lead when Rian Feeney struck the post, but Bonagee pinned us back.We began to get more in to the game in the second half with the aid of the wind. Riley Dowds and Corey Mc Intyre came more in to the game and the defence tightened up. We equalised when Aogan Rodgers scored after a great run. Charlie Kincaid went close with a free but it was superbly headed off the line. Aogan Rodgers put us ahead when he scrambled home after a long run.Bonagee went close a couple of times before Charlie Kincaid struck the post with another free. There were to be no more goals in a really entertaining game. This was the final game of the season and the management team of Ernie Pollock and Graham Edge would like to thank the players for their efforts through the season the parents for getting them there and Gabriel Crawford for the training. Lagan Harps 6 Whitestrand United 1

Lagan produced a clinical display to overcome a youthful Whitestrand side in Ballyare. Whitestrand had the first effort when Garret Ferry forced Michael Toner to push his shot behind for a corner. Lagan began to threaten and took the lead on five minutes. Good interplay between Marthew Doran and Seamie Cullen saw Seamie cross to the backpost where Dean Murray scored with a diving header. The game went from end to end and Lagan increased their lead on twenty minutes when Joe Mc Carron volleyed in a Glenn Gallagher Cross. Lagan made it 3-0 on forty minutes when Ross Hamlyn broke through to score. Ross then converted a penalty on forty three minutes to leave Lagan 4-0 up at the break. The second half was as open with both sides creating chances. Lagan got their fifth on fifty five minutes with Philip Doran finishing well. Joe Mc Carron with a fine strike from the edge of the box made it six on sixty minutes. Whitestrand never gave up and Garret Ferry got the goal he deserved when he forced home a corner on seventy five minutes. Both teams continued to attack but there were no further goals. A good team effort from Lagan while Whitestrand contributed with some good passing moves. Referee was Seamie Ferry.

Lagans undefeated start to the season came to a halt when they went down to a strong Cranford side. Cranford started well and Chris Carr put them ahead after five minutes. Lagan came back strongly and equalised through Taylor Cassidy. Lagan started the second half well but Cranford regained the lead after a goalmouth scramble ended with a shot deflected past keeper Michael Toner. Lagan Harps 2 Letterkenny Rovers 4, after extra time.

Heartbreak for the 12s Division one side this morning in Manor with the boys narrowly missing out on a shield final place losing out to a strong Letterkenny Rovers outfit at Orchard Park. Lagan were slow to start and found themselves behind early with Eamon Sampson stealing in and finishing past Daire Hamilton in the goals. Lagan struggled initially with the intensity and physicality of Letterkenny , spaces and time on the ball were at a premium, but with Liam Barron and Daimhin Harkin crossing from the wide positions, chances were coming for Oisin Kavanagh and Noah Gibson in the forward roles. From one such delivery Gibson found himself in space and his first time right foot shot beat the Letterkenny goalkeeper to level. Stayed this way till the second half , Letterkenny applied the pressure but Luke Doherty , Shay Tourish and Kayal Cafferkey battled well and cleared their lines on a few occasions. Lagan went ahead with about 15 minutes to go, Daimhin Harkin getting to the byline and crossing for Liam Barron to bring down , compose himself then finish into the bottom corner. Letterkenny stepped it up , and drew level with a fantastic strike by Asme Eyres taking the tie to extra time. Both sides were tired during this extra period and just as penalties looked likely , a high speculative effort from Matthew McConnell looped into the goals to nudge Letterkenny ahead. Shay Tourish pushed into midfield beside the busy Donacha Gallagher as the boys searched desperately for an equaliser, and after advancing past two Letterkenny defenders , he crashed a shot against the bar with the keeper beaten. Small margins. Rovers broke forward with one last attack and finally sealed the victory through Odedokun. Good luck to them in the final.

Lagan Harps 1 Letterkenny Crusaders 8

With a couple of injuries and a few late cry offs we were left really stretched today. Thanks to the u/12 players who came in to make up the team and gave a good account of themselves. We held on well for hhe first twenty five minutes before Letterkenny broke through for their first. They added two more before Zach Nesbitt pulled one back before halftime. Letterkenny just overpowered us as we ran out of steam in the second half. Despite the result the boys battled hard and we had some good performances. Scott Nesbitt really battled hard at the back with Aogan Rodgers and Ben Duncan alfo doing well. Riley Dowds also gave everything in midfield.

Squad: Calvin Mc Bride, Mikey Lynch, Riley Doherty, Ben Duncan, Zach Nesbitt, Aogan Rodgers, Daniel Mc Carron, Riley Dowds, Corey Mc Intyre, Adam Doran Zach Nesbitt, Rian Feeney, Mark Geraghty.

Lagan Harps 6 Dunfanaghy 3
Final group game in the under 12 Division 1 Cup for Jason and Michael's squad and with both teams sporting a 100 per cent record a good game was in store. Lagan were quick out of the blocks, Liam Barron converting a long ball forward from Donnacha Gallagher to open the scoring. The second followed quickly, Oisin Kavnagh getting down the line and picking out Daimhin Harkin with a precise delivery, Harkins confident first time effort crashing high into the net for 2. A short corner routine presented Noah Gibson with a shooting opportunity and he didn't need asking twice as he bent a left foot strike into the goals to make it three. The final goal of the half was again scored by Daimhin Harkin as he raced down the line and fired a high effort to the back post and directly found the top corner of the goals. Second half again started at 100 mph, Dunfanaghy scrambled their first past an unlucky Jaden Toner as he had kept the first two efforts out superbly , then from a Harkin cross Barron made it five one. Dunfanaghy rallied, a superb free kick was dispatched to the top corner past Toner for 5 2, chances were coming thick and fast but Shay Tourish, Luke Doherty and Kayal Cafferkey were excelling in defence. Clara Gallagher added a bit of power to the midfield after being introduced, she linked up with Gibson who's effort was spilled by the highly impressive Dunfanaghy keeper Scott, and Oisin Kavnagh followed up to put the result in no doubt. There was time for Dunfanaghy to muster up one more effort to bring it back to 6 3 and that's how it finished. A great game.

Lagan Harps 2 Convoy Arsenal 1

Lagan reached the area final after this win over Convoy. Lagan started well with Dean Murray causing Convoy early problems. He shot just wide after ten minutes. Lagan took the lead on twenty minutes when Philip Doran was taken down by the keeper and Ross Hamlyn converted the penalty. Ryan Carlin had Convoys best effort of the half when he put a free just over the bar. Lagan had most of the play but didn't create a lot. Joe Mc Carron went close with a volley for Lagan at the start of the second half and Philip Doran had a shot well blocked down. Travis Crawford then had a header cleared off the line. The introduction of Anthony Bogle pepped up Convoy and he shot narrowly wide from distance. Lagan got their second when Philip Doran charged down the keepers clearance and knocked home the rebound. Ryan Mc Gee went close for Lagan before Convoy pulled a goal back. Lagan were caught with too many players up the field and Convoy countered. We turned in one of our best performances of the season against the first division side and were unlucky not to get something out of the game. We had an early chance but Evan Rodgers shot was well saved. Illistrin then took the lead on fifteen minutes when we were caught out at the back. Evan then had two chances saved by the Illistrin keeper. Illistrin got a second on thirty minutes when they seized on a clearance. We played some really good football in the second half with Dylan Mc Clintock, Corey Mc Intyre and Drew Dowds putting some good moves together. Scott Nesbitt and Stirling Moore kept the defence tight. Aogan Rodgers had a couple of good runs down the right and Ethan Mc Clintock down the left, but we weren't able to take advantage. Dylan Mc Clintock forced the Illistrin keeper in to a good save late on as we pressed. No points today but a really good team performance.

Milford Utd 0 Lagan Harps 4

The team headed to Milford with a full squad, knowing that a draw was enough to see us into the Final. We started on the front foot and opened the scoring when Zach slotted home to make it one nil. We kept the pressure on and kept Milford penned in their own half. After a few wasteful corners from us we scored a second when Senan’s cross cum shot looped over the keeper and into the top corner of the goal. Our third came mid way through the second half when Senan ran onto a great through ball and he finished past the onrushing Milford keeper. We limited Milford to a few opportunities and we then grabbed a fourth after a delightful cross from Ethan which Kayden finished with a super header. Good team performance from all involved. Team

Lennon Celtic 3 Lagan Harps 0

We came up short in the final against a good Lennon side. With the aid of the breeze Lennon did most of the attacking in the first half, but we defended well. Riley Doherty had our best effort in the half. Lennon took the lead on twenty minutes when Charlie Gallagher lost his marker and volleyed home. We came more in to it in the second half with Aogan Rodgers going on some good runs down the right. Lennon did threaten on the break and Calvin Mc Bride pulled off two really good saves. We had a chance to equalise when Anton Rodgers burst clear but Lennon keeper Oisin Ferry saved well at his feet. Lennon increased their lead when Oisin Ferry finished well after we failed to clear. We almost pulled one back when Zach Nesbitt connected well with an Aogan Rodgers cross but it was blocked on the line. Lennon wrapped it up in the final minutes when Cian Crawford headed home a corner. Our lads battled hard but Lennon were the better side on the day. Apart from Aogan Rodgers, Keelan Mc Gee had a solid game with Scott Nesbitt doing really well at the back. Riley Dowds also did well and looked our most creative player.

Lagan Harps 2 Drumoghill FC 0

Lagan came out on top in the local derby in a really scrappy encounter, with little football played. After a nervy start Lagan took the lead on fifteen minutes when Ryan Mc Connell headed home a Joe Mc Carron corner. Drumoghill responded with efforts just over from Colm Gordon and James Gillen. Lagan keeper Michael Toner then did well to beat away a long ball that took a bad bounce in front of him. Drumoghill's Roy Duffy then pulled off two good saves from Joe Mc Carron, one from a free and the other a shot from a narrow angle. The second half continued in the same vein with Conor Doohan shooting just over for Drumoghill. He then forced Michael Toner in to a good save with a shot from a narrow angle. Damien Nelis replied for Lagan but Roy Duffy beat away his volley from close in. Lagan's Josh Hay then headed over when well placed. Lagan grabbed the second on seventy minutes from another corner. Ciaran Quinn forced the ball home at the back post. Drumoghill pressed hard at the end with Lee Smith and Karol Mc Ginley going close. Lagan stayed solid at the back and restricted their chances. Our u14Bs reached the cup final with a convincing win in the end. We face the winners of Lennon Utd and Illistrin Crltic in the final on Sunday at 4pm. We got off to a dream start when Anyon Rodgers was taken down for a penalty straight from the kickoff. Dylan Mc Clintock put away the spot kick. We extended the lead on ten minutes when Scott Nesbitt headed home a Corey Mc Intyre corner. He added a third minutes later when he scored after a scramble at another corner. We were playing some good football with Aogan Rodgers and Riley Dowds doing really well down the wings. Riley Dowds then headed a cross against the crossbar with Rian Feeney heading the rebound just wide. Letterkenny however defended really well and there were no more goals before halftime. We started the second half strongly again but Letterkenny defended doggedly. Riley Dowds again struck the crossbar before scoring with a good long range effort. Letterkenny picked up a few injuries and began to struggle in the heat. Adam Doran added a fifth before Anton Rodgers scored after s good run. Stirling Moore scored a penalty before Anton Rodgers added the final goal to leave a scoreline which didn't reflect the effort Letterkenny put in. Glenree United 3 Lagan Harps 4

We came away with a very fortunate victory over an understrength Glenree side. Due to a couple of late pullouts Glenree started with nine players. We started with most of the possession but Glenree broke well and took the lead. We responded with Rian Feeney finishing off a good move. We then took the lead when Stirling Moore put Anton Rodgers in to score. Glenree then went down to eight when a player went off unwell. However Glenree responded when they scored with a free from over thirty five yards. Halftime 2-2.

We again had a lot of possession in the second half, but continually gave it away. However we regained the lead when Dylan Mc Clintock scored from the edge of the area. Glenree then had another player arrive and again equalised when we were sloppy defending. We continued to give the ball away by overplaying it. Our main threat was coming down the left where u12 players Ethan Mc Clintock and Zach Nesbitt were linking up well. Glenree were then very unlucky not to take the lead when they struck the crossbar with a free five minutes from the end. We then got the winner in the last minute when Zach Nesbitt was fouled and Dylan Mc Clintock scored the penalty. In a match where we struggled to make our numerical advantage count all the plaudits must go to a well organised and determined Glenree side. Stirling Moore was the pick of our defence while Aogan Rodgers had a good first half, with Ethan Mc Clintock and Zach Nesbitt our best attacking options.

Squad: Mikey Lynch, Calvin Mc Bride, Stirling Moore, Scott Nesbitt Keelan Mc Gee, Charlie Kincaid, Anton Rodgers, Adam Doran Ethan Mc Clintock, Rian Feeney, Zach Nesbitt, Aogan Rodgers, Ben Duncan, Dylan Mc Clintock.

Lagan U14 girls went and win the Terry Leyden Cup this evening in Leckview. It was a tough, tough run to lifting this Cup for the girls. They had to overcome League Champions, Drumbar in the semi final was week, in a excellent game, eventually winning on penalties. This evenings opponents also had a great league campaign having beat Lagan 10-2 earlier in the season. This result shows how far the squad has come this season. Ashling Mugan put Lagan one up after 6mins. With young Cabrini Pyne pulling off some greats saves. Lagan's defence stood firm against Keadue's inform forward Emma Wallace, Scarlet Keys organising the defence of Tori Clarke, Ellie McNeill and Clara Peoples. Eva Gibson contributed some great crosses into the box in the first half with Amy Moore twice coming close. Claragh Gallagher outpaced the fullback to run in on goal but Player of Match Nicole Gillespie came across for a good block. The diamond in the mid of Ashling Mugan, Holly McCarron and Sorcha Keys worked extremely hard throughout the game. Lucy Pyne and Savannagh Keys also had two good chances at end of the second half to extend the lead. Captain Scarlet Keys was presented the Cup by Terry Leyden.

Our girls came out on top after a really well contested game with Drumbar. The game got off to an explosive start with three goals in the first ten minutes. We took the lead after three minutes when Rosie O'Donnell seized on a loose ball at the edge of the area and finished well. Drumbar responded immediately with Sarah Mc Guinness scoring from the edge of the area. Sarah Conaghan then restored our lead direct from a corner. The game then settled down in to a midfield battle before Sarah Mc Guinness equalised after twenty four minutes. Rosie O'Donnell had one good break but Drumbar keeper Lauren Mc Ardle saved well. The second half was really competitive with both defences getting on top. We regained the lead when Rosie O'Donnell scored after a scramble when Drumbar failed to clear a corner .We had a couple of long range efforts from Ashling Mugan and Holly Mc Carron while Sarah Conaghan cleared a corner off the line. Amy Doherty was injured in the scramble and Sarah had to take over in goal. She did well to clear a few long balls over the top while the defence kept the Drumbar forwards at bay with Scarlett Keys and Sine Harris Ryan getting in a couple of vital blocks late on.Sorcha Keys also won a lot of tackles in midfield. A really great team effort from our girls in a really competitive match.

We lost out in a really competitive contest. The first half was evenly balanced and we took the lead on twenty minutes. Anton Rodgers shot was saved by the keeper but Rian Feeney put away the rebound. Lennon equalised a minute later when their centre forward scored from the edge of the area. We regained the lead when Riley Dowds shot was spilled by the keeper and Anton Rodgers put away the rebound. Lennon again equalised minutes later when we failed to close down one of their midfielders and he hit a high shot to the roof of the net. They took the lead right on halftime when they seized on some hesitancy in our defence and their centre forward scored. We started the second half well wih Riley Doherty just too high with a good effort. It was a well balanced half and we were unlucky not to equalise on sixty minutes. Charlie Kincaid hit the post with a free. Anton Rodgers then burst through but couldn't get a shot away. Lennon settled the game with a goal on the break in the final minutes. Glenree United 2 Lagan Harps 2

We put in our best performance of the season when we battled hard to come away with a point in Carrigart. We took the lead early on when Anton Rodgers did well to score from a narrow angle. Glenree responded and equalised after twenty minutes. They were then awarded a penalty but it was put wide. They did take the lead, after a scramble, right on the halftime whistle. Despite being under a lot of pressure we defended really well. We got the equaliser halfway through the half when Adam Doran was taken down at the edge of the area. Corey Mc Intyre fired the free high in to the top corner. We really had to dig deep as Glenree came at us in waves in the final minutes. A win would have given them the league title. Calvin Mc Bride pulled off two superb saves in the closing minutes to keep us in the game. A great all round team performance with everyone putting in a great shift. Glenree are a really strong outfit and should wrap up the title in the next match.

A good tight game ended in a cracking 3-3 draw tonight in Illistrin with the darkness falling in.

Illistrin started the brighter and deservedly took the lead when we didn't clear a long ball in and Cormac Harren nipped in to fire past Callum. Illistrin had further chances and Callum produced two great saves to keep us in the game. We got level when Eamonn fed Damien out wide and his ball through found Eoin who was brought down and Matthew converted the penalty. Both sides had further chances but didn't hit the target. Half Time 1-1.

Illistrin again took the lead when again we failed to clear and the ball was played back in and Philip McGee shot high to the net from twenty yards. Eoghan Scott hit a great free kick but Callum produced another great save. Eoin beat 2 men but fired straight at the keeper from twenty yards. Ryan McGee drew us level again when he beat two men rounded the keeper and fired home. Ryan then had another chance but fired wide. With ten minutes remaining Fionns free from the left was met by Matthew and give the keeper no chance. With four minutes remaining after clearing the initial attack the ball fell to Charlie Robinson twenty five yards out and his shot flew to the top corner. Straight from the kick off Alex's long ball was flicked on by Conor and Aiden drew a great save from the Illistrin keeper.

A draw was a fair result in a exciting game of football.

Gerard Devine was the Referee who let a good game flow.

With several regulars missing we battled hard before late goals saw Illistrin run out winners. We started badly with Illistrin scoring twice in the first fifteen minutes. Riley Dowds brought us back in to it with a great strike from thirty yards. We then had a chance when Riley sent a great cross across the face of the goal but we failed to get a finishing touch. Calvin Mc Bride pulled off a great save pushing a shot away off the post. The second half was evenly balanced before Illistrin scored direct from a corner. They then scored a penalty. We went close with a great effort from Riley Dowds. Charlie Kincaid went on a great run but we again failed to take advantage of a good cross. Ballyraine equalised when Senan Doherty raced clear of the Lagan backline before finishing well. In the final minute of the half Oisin Kavanagh had a good run but keeper Tiernan Jennings bravely blocked his close range effort. Ballyraine went close early in the second half when Daniel Mc Glynn's shot was cleared off the line by Shea Tourish. Ballyraine then took the lead when a long range effort from Paddy Hazlett bounced high in to the net. Oisin Kavanagh went close again for Lagan but his shot went just wide. Lagan equalised when after a good team move Noah Gibson's shot found the back of the net. Cayal Cafferkey then shot just wide before hitting the crossbar as Lagan finished strongly. A brilliant couple of days at the club with the annual Lakeside Cup up for grabs. Yesterday, Cappry Rovers took the honours in the 2012 competition whilst Glen Rovers got their hands on the shield. Today, Lagan Harps were victorious whilst Aileach won the shield competition. The club would like to that all the players who took part, the parents who got them there, the volunteers who referees today and yesterday, Bernard who took control of everything yesterday and finally the coaches who I was in contact will for making the event such a success. The weather was fantastic and there was smiles all round from the kids. I hope the competition helped everyone with the preparation for the Foyle Cup and we look forward in welcoming you all back next year.

Corey Mc Intyre scored at the start of the second half with a long range free. Ballyraine pulled one back with a powerful strike from distance. We put together a few good passing moves before Charlie Kincaid scored a cracker from 30 yards. Ballyraine pulled another back just at the end. Calvin Mc Bride pulled off a great save to push the ball against the bar but there was a free player who followed up up score. A decent performance in which everyone got a good run out. We suffered a narrow defeat after a well contested game in Kilmacrennan. Lennon started the stronger and took the lead after a scramble on fifteen minutes. We went close when Daniel Mc Carron headed just over from a corner. Lennon shaded the half and went close on a couple of occasions. We improved a lot in the second half and Charlie Kincaid went close with a few long range efforts. Both teams defended well as he game wore on and despite a few near misses at both ends there was no further score. To be fair to the lads they put in a great effort, against a good side, but couldn't get the equaliser. Aogan Rodgers and Keelan Mc Gee did well defensively as did Charlie Kincaid and Dylan Mc Clintock in midfield. Daniel Mc Carron had a very good second half.

After a really good first half performance we fell away badly in the second half and were well beaten by a strong Glenree side. We started well and took the lead with great lob by Riley Dowds. We created a fee other chances but didn't take them. We then lost keeper Mikey Lynch when he got injured in bravely blocking an onrushing forward. We fell asleep defensively shortly afterwards and Glenree grabbed an equaliser. The remainder of the half was evenly balanced. Glenree's two big lads on the middle of the field began to take control at the start if the second half. They went 2-1 up when we failed to close down the attacker quickly enough and he shot high in to the net. We failed to create much for the remainder of the game and Glenree added another three despite Calvin Mc Bride pulling off a number of good saves. Lagan Harps 4 Glenea Utd 1

We were facing a strong Glenea side who were setting the pace in the league. Lagan got off to a good start with a few great opportunities but found a Glenea goalkeeper in no mood for conceeding. The breakthrough came after Senan had a shot from outside the box and went in bottom corner of the net. Zach made it 2-0 taking opportunity of a pass into the box from the midfield. Lagan pushed on making it 3-0 with a long range strike from Lukas outside the box. Glenea had a few good chances and Tiernan made a few brilliant saves. The Fourth came when Lukas raced down the left wing and crossed into the box to Keegan who finished it calmly making it 4-0. Lagan had a few good chances and Glenea did also but they were stopped by Tiernan and the Lagan defenders. Glenea’s goal came late on when the midfielder played a through ball and the Glenea striker finished it making it 4-1. Lagan had a few more good opportunities with Keagan nearly grabbing his second after brilliant work down the right wing from Kaiden McBride but the full time whistle blew and the match ended Lagan 4-1 Glenea. 💪. Well done to the Entire squad.

A last minute penalty earned us a win in a game which we dominated but couldn't take our chances. We started strongly and took the lead after ten minutes. A Daniel Mc Carron cross was well finished by Anton Rodgers. Dylan Mc Clintock struck the crossbar as we created chances. But good goalkeeping and some near misses left it 1-0 at halftime. We were on top again at the start of the second half, but Letterkenny began to threaten as the half wore on. We began to concede some silly frees and Letterkenny equalised from one of those. We pushed forward looking for a winner but Dylan Mc Clintock again struck the bar and Corey Mc Bride and Anton Rodgers all went close. Letterkenny were nearly in again but Calvin Mc Bride did well to block the forwards effort. With time running out Letterkenny were penalised for handball in the box and Dylan Mc Clintock converted the penalty Letterkenny almost equalised in injury time but we scrambled it clear. Glenree 4 - Lagan Harps Colts 1

Great effort by the young Colts in this encounter against a strong Glenree side. Glenree raced into a three nil lead early in the game but the Colts kept trying to play and had some good passages of play between this and half time. 3-0 Ht.
The second half was much closer and Lagan got one back through Daimhin Harkin after he finished well when one on one with the keeper. Glenree scored late on to make the final score 4-1. Mention must go Jaden Toner in the nets who pulled off a few excellent saves and Luke Doherty who showed great bravery after being in the wars a couple of times but continued on and played excellent. Claragh Gallagher came on at half time and looked really dangerous on the right hand side but unfortunately had her debut cut short as she received a bloodied nose. More learning for the young Colts against an older and more physical side which should stand them in good stead going forward.

The Colts ran out comfortable winners in the end but the game was tighter than the scoreline suggests. Lagan took the lead early through an excellent Shea Tourish free kick but Keadue equalised almost immediately to leave the teams going in level at halftime.

Lagan started the second half on the front foot and took the lead through Daimhin Harkin after his shot from distance crept inside the post but Keadue to their credit hit back immediately.

A couple of quickfire goals midway through the half meant Lagan put a bit of distance between the teams, Liam Barron finding the bottom corner after beating his man well and a great run from way back and great finish from Kayal Cafferky. Lagan went on to add a few more goals with Shea, Daimhin & Liam all adding to their tallies. Good team performance with everyone playing their part.

Our winning start to the season came to an end when we were well beaten by a physical stronger Glenree side. We struggled to compete in midfield when we played against a strong wind in the first half. We conceded an early goal and were immediately on the back foot. We had a great chance to equalise from a corner but failed to put it away. Glenree added two more before the break. We hoped to capitalise on the wind advantage in the second half but Glenree continued to dominate. They added a fourth from the penalty spot late on. Despite the loss we had some good performances, Stirling Moore as usual gave everything, while Keelan Mc Gee had an excellent game with Charlie Kincaid also doing well. Our hopes of promotion ended when we were beaten by third placed Gweedore in a tight game in Orchard Park. Gweedore got off to a great start when they took the lead on six minutes. Ethan Harkins free hit the post but Kieran Mc Fadden reacted quickest to knock home the rebound. We had a chance to equalise minutes later when Bernard Mc Menamin got a loose ball in the area but shot wide. The rest of the half was tight with Gweedore edging it on chances. Gary Mc Fadden heading a corner on tot he top of the bar. The second half was equally hard fought with the deciding incident happening on sixty two minutes. Gweedore cleared a corner we had and when Lagan we lost it in midfield they broke to score. Kieran Mc Fadden laid it off to Mark Mc Fadden to finish. We went close when Josh Hay struck the top of the bar but Gweedore killed off the game with a third on seventy five minutes. A long free from Ethan Harkin was headed home by Gary Mc Fadden. We got one back when Conur Crossan drove home through a crowded area and he was unlucky again in the last actions when his shot struck the crossbar and bounced out. In the end Gweedore ran out deserving winners. Ethan Harkin and Mark Mc Fadden were their best while for us Conur Crossan was outstanding at right back with Ciaran Quinn and Josh Hay also doing well. Donegal Junior League
Letterkenny Rovers 0 Lagan Harps 1

Our men's team put in their best performance of the season when they defeated league leader Letterkenny Rovers Reserves in an engrossing match. Letterkenny started well but the early loss through injury of the dangerous Jack Dwyer was a blow. We began to assert ourselves and put their defence under pressure. Most of the battle was in midfield with neither team creating clear chances. We started to get on top towards the end of the half with Ronan Carlin just failing to get on the end of a Bernard Mc Menamin cross. Luke Parke was proving Rovers most dangerous threat and won a few frees in dangerous positions. Damien Nelis then lobbed over another half chance before we should have taken the lead close to halftime. Rovers keeper Blake Forkan did well to save a Kieran Cunningham shot before somehow pushing away Dean Murray's effort from the rebound. It was a top class save. Rovers began to get the upper hand at the start of the second half and went close when Darragh Morrison struck the foot of the post. However our defence really stood up to the test and prevented any clear chances. We began to create chances again with the introduction of Ryan Kildea giving us more energy. The game became a real battle in midfield as both teams tried to gain control. We thought we'd taken the lead on seventy minutes when Blake Forkan pushed away a Ross Hamlyn free and Damien Nelis headed in. However the goal was ruled out for offside. The breakthrough finally came on seventy eight minutes. We had a sustained attack with Rovers unable to get the ball clear. When the ball broke to Kieran Cunningham in the area he fired home to the bottom corner. Rovers pressed hard for the equaliser but we defended magnificently. A really outstanding team performance from keeper Jason Quinn to the front line of Bernard Mc Menamin and Damien Nelis. With four games left, three at home, we are back in with a chance of promotion. Next Sunday we are home to Dunkineely Celtic.

A goal fest served up in horrendous conditions this morning for the kids and it was Gweedore who came out on top. Hard to keep track of all the goals but Gweedore raced into an early 3 nil lead and this was the score at the break.
Gweedore extended their lead early in the second half to make it 4 but Lagan kept at it and started the comeback through two Oisin Kavanagh penalties. Goals were then exchanged with Oisin adding two more and Liam Barron chipping in with a brace but Gweedore always kept Lagan at arms length at it wasn't until the closing minutes that Lagan got the deficit back to one goal and thought they might salvage a draw but Gweedore held out to claim all three points.
Credit to the kids from both sides for sticking at it in torrential rain and difficult underfoot conditions, Lagans outstanding performer on the day was Oisin Kavanagh not just for his goals contribution but his tireless work and application all day.

Lagan Harps 2 Deele Harps 1

We had to fight back to win a very hard competitive match. The first half was tight with few chances. Travis Crawford went close for us when he headed a corner just over. Josh Hay did the same when he connected with a long throw. Deele went close when Shane Mc Nulty found Jordan Duffy but he shot just wide. Shane then broke through but Travis Crawford got in a last ditch tackle to prevent the goal. Deele took the lead on forty minutes when Anthony Mc Cullagh headed home a Paul Lynch cross at the back post. The second half was just as tight with few clear chances. We equalised on seventy two minute when David Arthur did well to palm out Ciaran Quinns free quick but Bernard Mc Menamin stooped to head in the rebound. We went 2-1 up on seventy eight minutes when Ronan Carlin swivelled to fire home a pass from Ciaran Quinn. Both teams went for another goal but there were no further scores. For us Conur Crossan and Ciaran Quinn stood out while Jack Duncan did well when he came on. Shane Mc Nulty and Anthony Mc Cullagh did well for Deele. Referee was Barry Hunter.

5/3/22  Bonagee Arcade 1 Lagan Harps Colts 2

Victory for Lagan Harps Colts in their opening league game of the season in what was a very entertaining game. Bonagee started the brighter and took the lead early on through the splendid Tara Mc Daid who was excellent throughout. Indeed Bonagee could have been further ahead by half time if it weren't for Daire Hamilton in the Lagan nets who pulled off a few outstanding saves to keep the Colts in the game. 1-0 ht
Lagan started the second half well and got the equaliser after a very unfortunate own goal by a Bonagee defender. The remainder of the game was a tight affair with chances at a premium, Noah Gibson had a couple of efforts from distance well saved by the Bonagee net minder and Bonagee threatened on a few occasions but the Lagan defence well marshalled by Shea Tourish held firm. The winning goal came less than ten minutes from time and it was a goal worthy of winning any game, a quick kick out by Shea Tourish to Oisin Kavanagh and his delightful threaded through ball set Daimhin Harkin through on goal and he made no mistake clinically finishing to the bottom corner to give the keeper no chance. The Colts had a few scary moments before the final whistle but held out for the three points. Some fine performances with Shea Tourish excellent at the back, Donnacha Gallagher working tirelessly in midfield and Noah Gibson linking up play in front of him and the constant threat of Daimhin Harkin up top but man of the match must go to Daire Hamilton in the nets who kept Lagan in the game in the first half. The team were also sporting their new kit and the club would like to thank William & Margaret Tourish of Tourishs Spar Burnfoot for their kind sponsorship.

20/2/22  Glenree Utd 3 Lagan Harps 2
Glenree came out in top in a hard fought contest in dreadful conditions. We had started alright with the elements in our favour but Glenree caught us on the counter with Eoghan Kelly firing home via a deflection on fifteen minutes. We equalised immediately when Kieran Cunningham was fouled in the box and Ross Hamlyn converted the penalty. We went close minutes later when Bernard Mc Menamin crossed but Glenree keeper Shane Mc Teague did well to block Dean Murray sliding effort. We went 2-1 up on twenty two minutes when Bernard Mc Menamin fired past the keeper after his initial shot was saved. Glenree then capitalised on a defensive error with Kevin Doherty taking advantage to equalise. Glenree started on top in the second half but play was stopped for awhile due to heavy hailstone shower. Glenree went ahead with another good counter with Keelan Mc Groddy finishing. We pressed hard for an equaliser with Glenree keeper Shane Mc Teague bringing off crucial blocks from Ryan Kildea and Dean Murray. Late on Jason Quinn pulled off two great saves to keep us in it to the end. A well contested game in dreadful weather.

Gweedore United 0 Lagan Harps 0

(Abandoned 25 mins)

The game was switched from Manor to Gweedore as Orchard Park was unplayable. The start was held up due to the strong gales. When it got underway with the aid of the diagonal wind we started well. Josh Kildea had a few dangerous runs down the right but we created no real chances. Gweedore went close from a corner before we forced a few corners at the other end. Gweedore had a couple of good counters but Jack Duncan and Conur Crossan got in last ditch tackles. We played some good stuff in midfield at times with Ross Hamlym putting in a few good passes behind the Gweedore defence. Play was stopped for a few minutes when a heavy hail shower blew in but resumed again. Minutes later the ever dangerous Ciaran Mc Fadden burst through for Gweedore but shot narrowly wide. When keeper Jason Quinn went to take the kickout the ball blew away on a couple of occasions. Referee Con Mc Laughlin then called a halt to proceedings.

With the late change of venues it looked like we wouldn't have a team to travel. Thanks to all the lads that did get there. Next week we are home to Deele Harps.

Whitestrand Utd 3 Lagan Harps 1

Two well taken goals by Jordan Nugent proved to be the difference between the two teams. We had started well with some good passing in midfield, but didn't threaten the Strand goal. Strand took the lead on twenty minutes when he turned a defender and went through to finish well. The closest we came was with a free from Ciaran Quinn, well held, and a Ross Hamlyn headed that grazed a post. The second half was again keenly contested without the keepers being overworked. Strand went 2-0 up when Matthew Stewart got free at the back post and finished well on seventy five minutes. Jason Quinn then did well to push a goalbound effort over the bar to keep us in it. We pulled one back when Seamie Cullen was fouled and Ross Hamlyn converted the penalty. Jordan Nugent had the final say when he turned sharply in the box and finished well.

Squad: Jason Quinn, Conur Crossan, Travis Crawford, Josh Kildea, Ciaran Quinn, Ciaran Cunningham, Ruairi Crawford, Ronan Carlin, Ross Hamlyn, Bernard Mc Menamin.

Curragh went close on five minutes but Jason Quinn pulled off a superb save to deny Calvin Bradley. We responded with Josh Hay forcing a good save from Shane O'Brien. The game became scrappy before Jason Quinn did well to block Calvin Bradley again. We went close at the start of the second half when Ciaran Quinn headed just over. Curragh took the lead on sixty five minutes from the penalty spot after a foul in the area. Calvin Bradley confidently converted. Josh Hay headed just over for us with Ryan Kildea also shooting wide. Calvin Bradley went close again when his free from the edge of the area deflected over. We pushed players forward and finished the match strongly. We finally got the equaliser on seventy seven minutes when a corner deflected in off a Curragh defender. In the final few minutes we thought we had got a winner but Shane O'Brien pulled off a fantastic save from Josh Hay. In a game in which both defences were on top, there were no further chances. For us Jason Quinn, Conur Crossan, and JP Doran were best. For Curragh Mick O'Brien, Gérard Melaugh and Mattie Mc Connell were best. Referee was Barry Hunter.

Letterbarrow Celtic 3 Lagan Harps 2.

We were unfortunate not to come away with a point in a hard fought encounter in Letterbarrow. The home side started well and took the lead on fifteen minutes when we cleared a corner out to the left. It was whipped back in to the backpost where Kevin Mc Brearty  set up Dan Meehan who scored. We had a few half chances through Bernard Mc Menamin and Ryan Kildea but Letterbarrow looked the more dangerous when they countered at speed. We equalised when after a scramble in the area Ciaran Cunningham did well to volley home. We were playing some good football but the end product was missing. Letterbarrow regained the lead on thirty five minutes when Kevin Mc Brearty got on the end of a ball over the top and ran on to score. Letterbarrow started strong again in the second half and Damien Mc Fadden pulled off three great saves to keep us in the game. We equalised on fifty four minutes when Ruairi Crawford found Ross Hamlyn and he laid the ball off for Josh Hay to fire home. We had two good opportunities to take the lead when Ross Hamlyn was through twice one on one but the Letterbarrow keeper Cathal Charlton saved both. Letterbarrow continued to cause us a lot of problems with their direct style and we had a couple of close shaves. With the game looking like ending in a draw, Letterbarrow were awarded a penalty on eighty five minutes. Gérard Mc Brearty converted the penalty. U12s Cup Final.

Lagan took on LK Rovers in today's U12 premier Cup final, the game started well despite heavy pitch conditions with both teams cancelling each other out, Rovers eventually took the lead from a free kick floated over and scrambled in by LK man Blake, Lagan came closest with Oisin Higgins and Lukas having a good free kick tipped over the bar by the Rovers keeper, Lagan continued in the 2nd half to look for the equaliser but a stubborn LK defence kept Lagan at bay, at the other end Ross pulled off a few good saves but it was to be Rovers day under lead coach Joe mc Loughlin, a brilliant effort throughout the season from 11 boys who can be very proud of all their commitment, runners up in the league and runners up in the cup with only 2 defeats all season.

Our U14B team had to show character to come back from a bad start to overcome Letterkenny in a high scoring encounter. Letterkenny started fast and took a 2 0 lead before Aidan Devir got us back in to the game. Letterkenny defended doggedly and created a few chances on the break, as they maintained their lead up to halftime.
We started strong in the second half with Charlie Kincaid firing in a hat trick to put us 4 2 up. Letterkenny were still dangerous on the break but our defence led by Tom Holland and Mia Devenney held solid. Calvin Mc Bride pulled off a number of good saves. We were on top in midfield where Sophie Canning got through some great work. When Riley Dowds added a 5th with a fine finish at the back post, we had a bit of breathing space. Aidan Devir added a 6th late on. Letterkenny didn't give up and they had a shot come off the crossbar before grabbing their third in the final minutes. Letterkenny Rovers B 3 Lagan Harps 1
Our u16s suffered their first defeat of the season when they went down to a good Rovers side. Rovers dominated the first half and led comfortably 2 0. We improved dramatically in the second half and when Aaron Donnell scored it was game on. Aaron shot narrowly wide and Ryan Kildea was just over with a wonderful chip as we piled on the pressure. However Rovers steadied themselves and the game became an end to end battle. Matthew Doran pulled off a great save to keep Rovers at bay. However Rovers scored a vital third and our challenge died out. A great second half effort but we left ourselves too much to do. Good performances from Alex Ramsey, Fionn Crawford and Jamie O'Carroll at the back and Callum Lynch in midfield with Ryan Kildea again having an outstanding game.
